November 19, 2007I flatted out of the race halfway through the first lap, which meant I was able to get some photos of my fellow Cat 4 Men. More on Flickr.

I think 99% of this website is devoted to cycling and for the most part that’s okay, but I want to take a quick break to say that I am unbelievably excited about seeing I’m Not There. The movie looks completely awesome featuring Cate “Galadriel” Blanchett, Richard “Mr. Goodbar” Gere, Christian “Patrick Bateman” Bale, Heath “The Joker” Ledger & more all as different versions of Bob Dylan. Directed & written by Todd Haynes who made Velvet Goldmine which ruled and Safe which did not. Check out the trailer here along with this picture of Cate Blanchett as the man:

I’ve been listening to the new soundtrack all night and it really isn’t helping me get any less amped. That & I’ve broken out my stack of Dylan albums, live CD’s, and bootlegs so I’ll probably be even more insufferable in the coming weeks.
Other movies I’m excited about: No Country for Old Men (Coen Bros), Be Kind Rewind (Gondry), There Will Be Blood (Anderson), The Dark Knight (Nolan) and Juno (Reitman). Even though I’m not sure if any of them will knock out Knocked Up & Superbad as my favorite movies this year. Okay now back to two wheels & spandex…

MkeOnline.com has a series of profiles of 3 Milwaukee cyclocross racers. Zack (of ZRCycles) is one of them and he contacted me about using one of my images for his profile. Also Lyle (Cognition Caps) was profiled and Kat took his picture. The picture they used is really great in its uncropped form. They also used her picture for the banner which I can’t seem to get to appear again.

From the Seinfeld episode “The Hot Tub”
Jerry: So what happened? The snooze alarm? Wasn’t it?
Jean-Paul: Man, it wasn’t the snooze. Most people think it was the snooze, but no, no snooze.
Jerry: AM/PM
Jean-Paul: Man, it wasn’t the AM/PM. It was the volume.
Jerry: Ah…the volume.
The plan was to wakeup at 6:30am, pick up Luke, then hit Estabrook Park for some Wisconsin cyclocross action. Luke reminded me to set my clock back for Daylight Savings, which I did. When I set my alarm though I accidentally set it for 6:30pm. My plea to alarm clock manufacturers: Why use a dot to signify AM/PM? Why not actually display the letters P & M? Oh and I used to mess up the volume control on my old alarm clock too.
